Virginia – Michael Burnette is Galax’s new city manager starting Sept. 18. Burnette comes to Galax from his previous job as assistant county administrator in Franklin County. Galax’s previous city manager, Barry Moore, stepped down earlier this year due to health concerns. Former city manager Keith Barker filled in after Moore’s departure and then the city appointed Gavin Blevins as interim manager to serve until a permanent hire was in place.
