California Department of Public Health welcomes new director and state public health officer

California – The California Department of Public Health will welcome Erica Pan, MD, as director and state public health officer. Dr. Pan currently serves as the department’s deputy director of the Center for Infectious Diseases, the latest in her two decades of public health leadership experience. She will succeed Dr. Tomás Aragón after his retirement Jan. 31, 2025.
