The funding looks to accelerate development of advanced semiconductor technology that is critical for artificial intelligence and next-generation computing.
The funding comes through DOE's Funding for Accelerated, Inclusive Research (FAIR) initiative, which looks to build partnerships between universities and DOE's national laboratories.
Some of the projects receiving funding include solar installations, wind energy systems, hydropower retrofits and upgrades to irrigation and agricultural equipment.
The bulk of the funding will go toward projects designed to prepare potential industrial sites across the state to ensure they will be ready for new projects.
