New York – Richard L. McCormick has been appointed interim president of Stony Brook University, effective Aug. 1. McCormick previously served as president of Rutgers University and the University of Washington, and as provost at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He brings more than four decades of experience in higher education to the role.
