The North Rose-Wolcott Central School District (NRWCSD) in New York will spend $30 million to improve educational facilities and build a bus garage. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027.
The project will be split across three locations, targeting the district’s elementary school, high school and transportation facility. The district expects the transportation facility to be among the largest projects receiving funding, with plans to build an entire replacement building. The existing bus garage is outdated and no longer meets the needs or capacity for modern bus fleets.
The replacement transportation facility will provide ample space for driver training and bus maintenance. The facility will feature a bus garage, fuel island and associated parking lot. Additional amenities will include a training space, break room and bathrooms. The district will relocate the project to a new site from the current garage.
Improvements to the high school will include renovations for the science classroom, kitchen and cafeteria. Additional work will include replacing the generator, technology dust collector and roof. Finally, the district will expand the school’s air conditioning system.
The elementary school will benefit from replaced windows and renovations to the first floor classrooms including lighting, cabinets and finishes. The district plans to demolish the existing bus garage and reconfigure the bus loop and parking lot. Similar to the high school, the project will also expand the air conditioning system.
