Eugene Airport unveils $450M phased expansion plan

July 15, 2026

Officials with Eugene Airport (EUG) in Oregon have released a $450 million expansion plan, laying out a phased approach to ongoing and upcoming projects for facilities and infrastructure.

The expansion plan is spread across two distinct phases, with the first phase covering work that is currently in development. The airport has not broken ground on Phase 2 yet, leaving development opportunities for expanding infrastructure up for grabs.

Roughly $250 million will be needed to facilitate Phase 2 construction, prioritizing the construction of Concourse C. The airport will also lay the groundwork for expansion through the $39 million Terminal Apron construction project, providing critical support to ensure future Concourse C operations function as intended.

The airport will invest $177.6 million to cover costs associated with the Concourse C design and construction process. Once completed, the new concourse layout will feature eight new gates to accommodate larger aircraft. This will significantly increase the airport’s gate capacity and ability to handle new direct flights across the nation. Plans include adding swing gates with charter loading capabilities for the expanded concourse.

Before work can begin on Concourse C, EUG must first establish its foundation by building the Terminal Apron. The project will include installing high-strength pavement, grading, drainage and lighting. Plans for the apron are currently in the design phase.

While building Concourse C and the terminal apron are among the airport’s highest priorities, they only account for part of the holistic expansion plan. Additional elements either in progress or planned for future bidding include:

  • Expanding Concourse A.
  • Building an outbound baggage facility with in-line screening.
  • Expanding the airline ticket office and counter.
  • Expanding the baggage claim area.
  • Adding new parking options.
  • Rehabilitating the taxiway and runway.
  • Realigning public access roads.
