Texas A&M system plans $830M in capital projects for 2026

September 17, 2025

The Texas A&M University (TAMU) System Board of Regents in Texas has approved a $6.6 billion, five-year System Capital Plan, guiding the system’s critical infrastructure and system decisions for the immediate future.

The budgeting document includes nearly $2 billion in new projects that will be implemented between 2026 and 2030, with plans to initiate $830.6 million in projects in 2026 alone. The remaining $4.6 billion consists of previously approved projects that are either in the design or construction phases.

The board’s approval of the capital plan paves the way for universities to begin pre-construction. While minor construction, rehabilitation, renovation and equipment and software procurement projects can begin in 2026, more significant initiatives will still require board approval before they can begin in earnest.
