Walter Carter Jr. — Ohio

Ohio – Walter “Ted” Carter Jr. has been named the next president of Ohio State by university trustees. Carter has served as president of the University of Nebraska system since January 2020, and will start his new role at Ohio State on Jan. 1. Carter replaces Kristina M. Johnson, who stepped down in May as Ohio State’s president. Peter Mohler, vice president for research at Ohio State, will serve as acting president.
