The goal of this funding is to modernize infrastructure, expand access to reliable electric grids and safe drinking water and create jobs in rural and tribal communities.
These grants will be used to further efforts to maximize deployment of clean, reliable and affordable energy solutions local to the tribal communities, as well as ensuring their energy sovereignty.
Louisiana will receive $25 million to plug and reclaim around 540 orphaned oil and gas wells. Arkansas will use $5.6 million for similar work across 274 sites
