Roanoke, Virginia, appoints new city manager

Virginia – Valmarie Turner has officially been appointed city manager of Roanoke. On Dec. 2, the Roanoke City Council unanimously voted to confirm Turner in the position. Turner brings more than 30 years of local government experience to the role. She most recently served as deputy city manager for Fairfax. She succeeded Bob Cowell.
