Oscar Garcia accepts new role as assistant city manager in Harlingen

Oscar Garcia will succeed Craig Cook as the assistant city manager of the city of Harlingen. Garcia is being promoted from his position as Harlingen’s public works director. He brings over 25 years of public-sector experience to his new role, including serving as the public works director for the city of San Benito.

As the assistant city manager, Garcia will oversee the public works, engineering and parks and recreation departments. He will also oversee the Tony Butler Golf Course.
