Oregon State University baseball stadium project secures $15M philanthropic boost

July 1, 2026

A $15 million philanthropic gift to the Oregon State University (OSU) Foundation will fund an expansion of Goss Stadium at Coleman Field, supporting a capital project expected to create future opportunities for design and construction firms. The university anticipates the project, which includes additional seating and upgraded fan amenities, will be completed in 2028.

The anonymous donation will fund new premium seating and hospitality spaces in a right-field structure. The expansion will add permanent bleachers, with a dedicated year-round clubhouse and office space for the Corvallis Knights Baseball Club underneath. OSU says fans can expect expanded concessions, restrooms and other amenities.

The $15 million donation adds to a series of recent athletics investments at Oregon State, including a $25 million Field Sports Building for five varsity sports and the $48 million Valley Challenge for Student-Athletes, a fundraising initiative supporting athlete revenue sharing.

This expansion continues a series of capital improvements at Goss Stadium. The ballpark underwent a major reconstruction in 1999, when it received its current name and expanded to about 2,000 seats. Additional improvements followed in 2002 with the installation of stadium lighting, in 2009 with nearly 800 new seats and premium fan spaces, and in 2015 with synthetic turf, a new clubhouse and other player amenities.

More recent projects have included videoboard upgrades and premium viewing areas. A crowdfunding campaign with 259 donations raised nearly $105,000 for renovations to the player’s lounge, more than tripling the original fundraising goal.

The continuous upgrades reflect Oregon State’s long-term investment in a stadium that dates back more than a century. Players have been swinging for the fences at Goss Stadium since 1907, making it the oldest continuously used college baseball venue in the nation.

OSU officials say they hope to keep the momentum going with this latest project. Design and construction partners have not yet been announced. Additional details on procurement and construction are expected as the project advances toward its planned 2028 completion.
