Louisiana governor-elect names chief of staff

Louisiana Gov.-elect Jeff Landry has named Kyle Ruckert as chief of staff and Kyle Ardoin as director of intergovernmental relations.

Ruckert has served as senior adviser to multiple presidential elections and numerous statewide campaigns, including both current Louisiana U.S. senators. He also has extensive experience as chief of staff in both the U.S. House and Senate. He has been executive director of Landry’s transition campaign.

Ardoin has served as Louisiana’s secretary of state since 2018. The two-time incumbent chose not to run for re-election this year.

Landry, who served two terms as Louisiana’s attorney general, was elected governor in October, defeating two-term incumbent John Bel Edwards with 51% of the vote. He will be inaugurated on Monday.
