Ohio – On Nov. 15, the Canfield City Council appointed David D’Apolito as its city manager. D’Apolito has served as a judge of the Ohio 7th District Court of Appeals since November 2018. He will officially replace Wade Calhoun as city manager Jan. 1. 

Florida – Matthew Coppler has been hired by the city of Port Richey as its city manager. Coppler began his tenure Nov. 13. Coppler previously served as city manager for St. Clair Shores, Michigan. 

Washington, D.C. – The American Association of State Colleges and Universities has appointed Chuck Welsh as president and CEO. Welsh previously served as the Arkansas State University System president, which he held since 2011. Welsh will replace Mildred Garcia and will begin his new role

Wyoming – Dave Glenn has been appointed director of Wyoming State Parks and Cultural Resources. Working as the acting director since March, Glenn has been employed by the department since 2015. With over 35 years of experience in the outdoor recreation and outdoor education industry,

Pennsylvania – Cherelle Parker has been elected as the city of Philadelphia’s 100th mayor. The first woman to lead the city, Parker brings 17 years of government experience to the position. She succeeds the previous mayor, Jim Kenney. 

Illinois – The Pekin City Council has chosen John Dossey as its city manager. Dossey has been serving as the city’s interim city manager since May 2023, previously serving as the city’s chief of police since October 2015. Dossey began his duties on Nov. 6.
