Carbon Utilization Procurement Grants Program – Apply by April 30, 2024

The Carbon Utilization Procurement Grants Program empowers state and local governments and public utilities to adopt products made from captured carbon oxides. The Department of Energy (DOE) initiative supports the transition to more sustainable practices across various sectors by utilizing carbon by-products effectively.

The DOE has published a $100 million Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to fund approximately 100 projects that showcase the potential for carbon oxide derivatives to significantly reduce lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions.

Grants are allocated for the procurement of commercial and industrial products derived from anthropogenic carbon oxides. Recipients are expected to demonstrate the environmental benefits of such products compared with traditional technologies.

The NOFO opened July 24, 2023 and will close April 30, 2024.
