California – Dina El-Tawansy has been appointed as the new director of the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans). Tawansy brings over 25 years of experience with Caltrans to the role and in her new position, she will oversee more than 50,000 miles of California’s highway and freeway lanes and a budget of nearly $18 billion.
Maryland – Khalil Zaied has been appointed as the deputy mayor of operations for the city of Baltimore. Zaied brings over 18 years of experience with the city to the role and currently serves as the director of the Department of Public Works.
Georgia – Luke Doremus has been appointed as the vice president for Commercial at Ports America. Doremus brings over 20 years of experience with Ports America to the role and as vice president, he will lead the company’s commercial strategy across the Container, Roll-on/Roll-off and Breakbulk segments.
California – Cheryl Cotton has been selected as the new superintendent for the West Contra Costa Unified School District. Cotton currently serves as Deputy Superintendent of Public Instruction at the California Department of Education and steps into the role following the retirement of Kenneth “Chris” Hurst.
Massachusetts – Gaspare LoDuca has been appointed as the new CIO for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, effective in August. LoDuca currently serves as the CIO for Columbia University and in his new role, he will oversee technology infrastructure for student and administrative systems, network operations, cloud services, cybersecurity and customer support.
Virginia – Todd Horsley has been named the next CEO of the Centre Area Transportation Authority, effective July 15. Horsley brings over 24 years of experience in public sector transportation to the role and most recently served as the director of Northern Virginia transit programs with the Virginia Department of Rail and Public Transportation.
Georgia – Andrew Heath has been appointed deputy commissioner for Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT). Heath has spent 17 years with the department and in his new role, he will provide leadership to over half of GDOT’s 4,000 employees and an operational budget exceeding $4 billion.
Arkansas – Wes Milam has been appointed as the director of Public Safety Communications for the city of Fort Smith. Milam brings over 20 years of experience in the Fort Smith Police Department and in his new role, he will oversee the River Valley Communications Center, a regional consolidated 911 dispatch hub for police, fire, and EMS services.
Missouri – Brenton Siverly has been selected as the new deputy director of Finance for Kansas City. He most recently served as Director of Finance for the Schools of Nursing and Health Professions at the University of Kansas Medical Center and as deputy director, he will lead the City’s Budget and Revenue Divisions and oversee long-term financial strategy, tax administration, and revenue forecasting.
Hawaii – Kasie Kaleohano has been appointed as the new superintendent of the Hilo-Waiākea Complex Area. Kaleohano currently serves as the deputy superintendent of the Hilo-Waiākea Complex and brings over 30 years of experience in Hawaii public education to the role.
Tennessee – Suzy Hollenbach has been appointed as the new director of Memphis Animal Services. Hollenbach brings over 15 years of experience in animal welfare to the role and founded the outreach organization “All 4s Rescue League,” which provides general necessities and assistance for local pet owners.
North Carolina – David Pearce has been appointed as the new superintendent for Johnston County Public Schools, effective July 1. Pearce brings over 23 years of experience in education and currently serves as the assistant superintendent of Administrative and Auxiliary Services.
