MnDOT is unveiling the Transportation Research Update to provide transparency on the state’s newest and upcoming traffic safety, public health, transportation tech and maintenance initiatives.
The city will invest $48.7 million to reconstruct a series of critical roadways in order to support multimodal mobility, enhance traffic safety and revitalize transportation infrastructure.
The initiative targets a section of highway where the crash rate is more than 2.5 times the state average, with nearly half of all incidents being rear-end collisions at lower speeds.
These Cape Cod bridges serve as vital lifelines for the region's economy, connecting the Cape to the mainland and facilitating tourism, commerce and the daily commute for thousands of residents.
According to the report, 12% of U.S. rural roads are rated in poor condition, while 8% of rural bridges are rated in poor/structurally deficient condition.
