The project will create an interconnected 14-mile loop, consisting of paved shared-use paths and other associated pedestrian facilities throughout the city.
The grants will be allocated to local, regional and tribal communities for projects to reduce fatalities and severe injuries on rural and urban roads across the U.S.
These projects will connect over 3,300 locations to broadband internet along and develop a more resilient and digitally inclusive environment for residents and businesses.
The funding represents the largest investment in American transportation infrastructure since the construction of the interstate highway system in the 1950s and 1960s.
The project will install solar lighting and green medians along a 1.8-mile stretch of road, build 2.9-miles of shared-use path, convert three intersections to roundabouts and rehabilitate a portion of the road to mitigate flooding.
