The Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) has announced nearly $52 million in grants for multimodal and pedestrian infrastructure projects across the state. The grants will be distributed to projects across 33 counties to improve safety for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians.
ODOT’s Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) provides funding for projects including transportation alternatives, infrastructure for improving access to public transportation and enhanced mobility, community improvement activities, recreational trails and the Safe Routes to School initiative.
The projects awarded grant funding were selected based on committee recommendations and a scoring system focusing on safety, connectivity and preservation.
