Arizona – Ryan Lee has been appointed as the new director of transportation for the city of Glendale. Lee most recently served as the city’s director of government relations and in his new role, he will manage the city’s transportation department, including its airport, transit services, and its pavement management program.
California – Darnise Williams has been appointed as the new superintendent for the Antioch Unified School District, effective July 1. Williams brings over 30 years of experience in public education and currently serves as the superintendent of the Pacifica Unified School District.
Virginia – Vincent Shorter has been appointed as the new county administrator for Pittsylvania county. Shorter currently serves as treasurer of Pittsylvania county and steps into the new role following the resignation of Stuart Turille in April of last year.
Ohio – Troy Miller has been selected as the director of government affairs at Cincinnati Metro. Miller brings over 30 years of experience in the transit industry to the role and will lead Metro’s local, state and federal legislative strategies and partnerships.
Pennsylvania – Eden Ratliff has been appointed as Middletown’s new Township Manager, effective July 9. Ratliff brings more than 10 years of experience in municipal leadership and steps into the role following the retirement of Stephanie Teoli-Kuhls.
Arizona – Selene Tibbitts has been appointed as the administrator for Public and Affordable Housing for the city of Tucson. Tibbitts has been with the city’s Housing and Community Development department for 18 years and in her new role, she will serve as the senior manager of more than 1,900 city-owned housing units.
North Carolina – Joshua Gunn has been named director of the Office of Economic and Workforce Development for the city of Durham, effective July 14. Gunn currently serves as the president and CEO of the Glendale Chamber of Commerce in Arizona and has been nationally recognized as an economic development leader.
Georgia – Christopher Johnson has been selected as the president of the University of West Georgia (UWG), effective Aug 1. Johnson brings more than 30 years of experience in higher education leadership and currently serves as the COS for the University of Houston (UH).
Washington – Ken Yocom has been appointed as dean of the University of Washington’s College of Built Environments (CBE), effective July 1. Yocom has served as the college’s interim dean since October 2024 and steps into the role following the departure of Renee Cheng.
Louisiana – Glenn Ledet has been selected as the new secretary of the Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD). Ledet brings over 20 years of experience in both the public and private sectors building public infrastructure and most recently served as executive director of the Louisiana Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.
California – Jarad Hildenbrand has been appointed as the city of Orange’s next city manager, effective Aug. 11. Hildenbrand currently serves as the city manager for Laguna Hills and steps into his new role following the retirement of Tom Kisela.
Virginia – James Pohl has been appointed as the interim superintendent of Norfolk Public Schools (NPS). Pohl brings nearly 30 years of experience in public education to the role and prior to his appointment, Pohl served as the Chief Academic Officer for NPS.
