Department of Health and Human Services appoints permanent CIO

Washington, D.C. – Jennifer Wendel has been appointed permanent CIO of the Department of Health and Human Services. She has been operating as the department’s acting CIO since December 2023. Before serving as actiing CIO, Wendel was the department’s deputy chief information officer and acting DCIO for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. She assumed her role Nov. 18, 2024.
