The bridge, also known as America’s River Crossing, is 75 years old and requires modernization to address crash rates, traffic issues and mobility challenges.
Originally opened in 1865 and renovated to its current iteration in 1901, the Livingston Avenue Bridge offers New York’s only upstate passenger rail crossing of the Hudson River.
The funds will be used to enhance pedestrian infrastructure, mitigate crash rates and improve safety along major high-risk roadways across in three cities.
This funding will be used to advance large-scale and complex transportation projects poised to improve the safety, efficiency and reliability of the nation’s roadways, ports and bridges.
