The University of Arkansas at Fayetteville is planning a $100 million project to construct a new building for the expanding Sam M. Walton College of Business. Construction is expected to begin in 2027.
The project will provide an additional 110,000 square feet of new space for the college, bordering the existing Walker Hall and Reynolds Center. Located on the last remaining parcel available for development, the facility will provide enough classroom and collaborative spaces to ensure that the college will be able to host all business classes.
The current plan for the five-story building will house 17 classrooms, each capable of holding a minimum of 70 seats. The facility will feature a student hub to facilitate study, collaboration and innovation. The hub will ensure all students will have a centralized community to encourage interaction.
The university is currently working to determine how parking can be more effectively managed to accommodate the new building. The project will be supported through a mixture of university reserves, private gifts and general obligation bonds. Plans are in place to call a future bond issue with a maximum $70 million amount.
