Texas Water Development Board names permanent executive administrator

Bryan McMath has been officially promoted to permanent executive administrator of the Texas Water Development Board (TWDB). McMath has operated as the agency’s interim executive administrator since March 6, 2024, taking over the position from Jeff Walker after he retired March 5.

Executive administrator is McMath’s latest role since joining the TWDB in 2018 as governmental relations liaison. He was promoted to director of governmental relations in January 2021.

Prior to joining the TWDB, McMath spent 15 years at the Texas State Capitol, working for two state senators, three state representatives, a house committee office and a former speaker of the House.
