Originally opened in 1865 and renovated to its current iteration in 1901, the Livingston Avenue Bridge offers New York’s only upstate passenger rail crossing of the Hudson River.
This funding will be used to advance large-scale and complex transportation projects poised to improve the safety, efficiency and reliability of the nation’s roadways, ports and bridges.
The state will use the funds to improve a cargo transportation terminal, build pathways for nonmotorized travelers and institute traffic calming measures.
The project will install solar lighting and green medians along a 1.8-mile stretch of road, build 2.9-miles of shared-use path, convert three intersections to roundabouts and rehabilitate a portion of the road to mitigate flooding.
