SPC’s $4.7B updated TIP targets transit, transportation infrastructure and operations

The Southwestern Pennsylvania Commission approved a $4.7 billion plan for transit, highway, bridge, freight and safety projects.

America faces a massive bridge modernization challenge, with thousands of aging structures requiring repair or replacement.

Pennsylvania's District 4 will see 52 new transportation projects this year alone, totaling over $300 million.

The money would fund maintenance to fix crumbling roads, bridges and other infrastructure issues throughout the Pennsylvania county.

Investments in Interstate 70 and bridge repairs will help the county remain competitive in freight and regional mobility.

The package includes work on 43 bridges and 551 miles of roadway across three counties.

The funding is made available through the Alabama Transportation Rehabilitation and Improvement Program-II.

The funding package includes a mix of large and small projects, all designed to improve access and mobility across the state.

The funding comes from the Bridge Investment Program and will allow the city to repair and replace structural elements of the roadway and bridge.
