Texas AG Paxton acquitted on all impeachment articles

September 15, 2023

The Texas Senate on Saturday acquitted Attorney General Ken Paxton of 16 articles of impeachment.

The two-week trial focused on his business dealings with Austin real estate developer Nate Paul, who was indicted in June on federal charges of making false statements to banks.

No article received more than two-thirds of the required 21 votes to convict. Paxton had pleaded not guilty to all impeachment articles.
