Adam Rollins| The Waterville Central School District (WCSD) in New York will implement an $18.6 million project to upgrade infrastructure, programming space, security and energy performance across campus facilities. Currently in the design phase, construction is anticipated to begin in fall 2025. The bulk of the infrastructure work will be at Memorial Park Elementary School, prioritizing renovation and improvements. The district will start by improving two “mid-level” science classrooms and further supplement educational spaces with HVAC upgrades for air conditioning, better ventilation and controls. The project will reconfigure parking and student drop-off locations. Security improvements include replacing the fire alarm system, select doors and hardware. WCSD will also overhaul the utility infrastructure by upgrading the water supply system piping. Interior upgrades will include replacing lockers, floor and ceiling tiles, painting the cafeteria, upgrading storage for the art and music rooms and addressing the flooring transition past the media center. The district will also replace the vestibule coiling shutter. Improvements at Waterville Junior and Senior High School will prioritize the athletic fields and drainage infrastructure. Upgrades will improve the varsity and modified softball fields, the varsity and modified baseball fields and the practice soccer field. WCSD will also provide power to the baseball scoreboard. WHS will receive new roofing, a replacement fire alarm system, energy recovery units on the rooftop, modified ducts and replacement HVAC controls. Additional efforts will create interior space for a Regents safe. The district also plans to upgrade the bus garage by upgrading LED lighting and replacing HVAC controls, the vehicle lift, soffits and lintels. |
