New York Environmental Conservation Department names interim commissioner

New York – Sean Mahar has been named interim commissioner of the Department of Environmental Conservation. Mahar, who had been the department’s executive deputy commissioner, took over from Basil Seggos, who announced his retirement in February. Mahar has worked in several positions at the DEC, including as assistant commissioner of public affairs and chief of staff. He is a graduate of Siena College in Loudonville.
