Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority promotes three to permanent leadership roles

Georgia – The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) has made three promotions to permanent leadership positions – Steven ParkerLaShanda Dawkins and Jonathan Hunt.

  • Parker will take over as chief of staff, bringing 25 years of community, legislative, legal and policy development experience to the role. He has been with the authority since 2024, starting as assistant general manager of external affairs and later stepped into his role as interim chief of staff.
  • Dawkins has been chosen as MARTA’s permanent chief administrative officer. She brings 25 years of legal and human resource management experience to the role. She has been with the authority since 2006, most recently assuming a role as interim chief administrative officer.
  • Hunt has been selected as the authority’s chief legal counsel. He brings more than 24 years of legal experience to the role. He has been with MARTA since 2014. Hunt has been serving as the authority’s chief legal counsel in an interim capacity.
