Missouri – Art Goodin has been appointed as the director for the Missouri’s Department of Natural Resources (MoDNR) Division of Environmental Quality. He currently serves as deputy director for MoDNR’s Division of Environmental Quality and steps into the role following the promotion of Kyra Moore to deputy department director in April 2025.

Nebraska – John Ewing has been elected as the new mayor of Omaha. He brings nearly 25 years of experience in law enforcement, along with 18 years of leadership as Douglas County Treasurer. Ewing is the city’s first Black mayor. 

Washington – Justin Irish has been selected by the Northshore School Board as the next superintendent, effective July 1. He is currently the superintendent of the Anacortes School District where he serves over 2,500 students.

Michigan – Tanya Stoudemire has been confirmed as Detroit’s next CFO in a unanimous vote by City Council. She currently serves as the chief deputy CFO and steps into the position following the retirement of former CFO Jay Rising.

Utah – Robert Cummings has been appointed by the Utah Department of Commerce as the new director of the Utah Division of Securities. He brings over 15 years of experience in civil and criminal litigation to the role with a focus on securities fraud, healthcare fraud, corporate governance, and share valuation disputes.

New York – Demario A. Strickland has been selected by the Mount Vernon Board of Education as the school district’s new superintendent effective July 1. He is currently serving as the interim superintendent for the Rochester City School District (RCSD) and his first step in the Mount Vernon City School District will be preparing all schools and students for the 2025-2026 school year. 

Missouri – David Cameron has been selected as Springfield’s 14th city manager. He currently serves as Republic’s city administrator where since 2016, he has attracted new investments from Amazon, Convoy of Hope and others worth at least $1.4 billion.

Colorado – Steve Martingano has been appointed as Denver Regional Transportation District’s (RTD) next chief of police and emergency management. In his role, he will lead the police department that is responsible for the personal safety and security of more than 3,000 employees and customers across a service area in eight counties and 40 municipalities.

New Jersey – William F. Tate has been appointed the 22nd president of Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey effective July 1. He currently serves as the chief executive and academic officer of both the LSU system and the LSU flagship campus in Baton Rouge and steps into his new role succeeding previous president Jonathan Holloway.

Missouri – Benjamin Jonsson has been appointed as the new COO for the City of St. Louis effective July 7. He currently serves as chief of staff at the Air Mobility Command at Scott Air Force Base and has commanded and led major air bases both stateside and overseas during his 25 years in the U.S. Air Force.

Arkansas – Joseph Bailey has been appointed as the executive director of the Arkansas Waterways Commission, effective May 27. He brings more than 15 years of leadership experience in economic development, infrastructure coordination and strategic project management across both public and private sectors to the role.

Alaska – Randy Bates has been selected by Gov. Mike Dunleavy as the new commissioner of the Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation. He previously served as the head of the department’s Division of Water and will be replacing acting commissioner Christina Carpenter.
