IDEA Public Schools, a public charter school system, recently hired Marlon Shears as its new chief information officer. In his new role, he will work with the executive team to ensure core functions for the entire school system. He begins his new role on Sept. 18.
Before joining IDEA Public Schools, Shears served as the chief information officer at Fort Worth Independent School District, where he managed cybersecurity, systems architecture and network and telephone support services. His portfolio of technology leadership goes back further, as he was previously the deputy chief technology officer at Dallas Independent School District.
