The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) is making $140 million in grants and loans available to improve energy or water efficiency at HUD-assisted properties.
The deadline to apply for the Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) has been pushed back to July 31. The NOFO was first published last year.
The funds are available through HUD’s Green and Resilient Retrofit Program, which helps support significant energy efficiency and climate resilience renovations in homes occupied by low-income people, families and seniors.
Eligible uses include projects at an eligible property that:
- Improve energy or water efficiency
- Enhance indoor air quality or sustainability.
- Implement the use of zero-emission electricity generation, low-emission building materials or processes, energy storage or building electrification strategies.
- Address climate resilience.
