Many components of The Woodlands-area water infrastructure are reaching the end of their useful life, signaling the need for immediate remediation to sustain safe operations for nearby communities.
Currently, the sewage facility is currently not up to code nor is it operating to full capacity, despite its necessity to San Diego and other surrounding communities.
These projects will work to reduce flood risks, support restoration efforts, strengthen flood and climate resilience and safeguard drinking water sources.
The funding will be used for projects that reduce phosphorus discharges and address aging equipment, with a focus on small and disadvantaged communities.
