The funding will support the agency’s full transition to zero-emissions ferry services, including the construction of new large-capacity electric-powered vessels and supporting electrified infrastructure.
The grants will support local transit agencies in their efforts to ensure public transportation is feasible and reliable for Ohioans who utilize their services on a daily basis.
The plan includes ordering 2,000 railcars, making 60 existing stations accessible, and adding secure fare gates that address safety and accessibility concerns.
