Ohio – The Central Ohio Transit Authority (COTA) unanimously appointed Monica Tellez-Fowler president and CEO. She joined the authority March 2023 as chief operating officer before being promoted to deputy chief executive officer May 2023. Arizona – The city of Scottsdale has hired Teri Pace Killgore as its economic development director. Killgore will leave her role as assistant city manager for Walnut Creek, California, to join Scottsdale. She brings 19 years of municipal government experience with her.

Oregon – Ann Ober has been appointed Washington County’s assistant county administrator. Ober will begin her tenure May 1. She brings nearly two decades of government experience, most recently as city manager of Milwaukie, Oregon.

Oklahoma – Debbie Miller was promoted to public works director and city engineer for Oklahoma City on Feb. 15, 2024. Miller is the first woman to hold the position. She previously served the city as assistant city engineer and assistant public works director. She succeeded

Texas – The city of Amarillo confirmed Floyd Hartman as interim city manager following City Manager Andrew Freeman’s sudden departure from the role. Hartman has served the city for 20 years, including as assistant city manager since 2018. He will fulfill the

Connecticut – Mayor Roberto Alves has appointed Fernanda Carvalho as the city of Danbury’s acting director of health and human services. Carvalho currently serves as the city’s associate director of Community Health. She has been with Danbury since June 2018, originally joining as an epidemiologist.

Texas – Rodney Gonzales will serve as the city of San Marcos’ interim city manager, effective March 18. Gonzales will replace Assistant City Manager Chase Stapp while the city searches for a permanent replacement. He previously served as Austin’s assistant city manager,

California – The city of San Jose has appointed Mukesh Patel as director of aviation. Patel has held senior posts at international airports in Kansas City, Denver, San Antonio and Austin. He also held an executive position with Alaska Airlines. 

Wisconsin – Meagan Tuttle has been appointed director of the city of Madison’s planning division. Meagan currently serves as the director of planning for the city of Burlington, Vermont, where she has worked since 2015. She will officially take over the role Aug. 5. 

New Mexico – Lt. Gov. Howie Morales has been appointed to the executive committee of the National Hispanic Caucus of State Legislators. Morales will represent the West Region for the 2024-2025 term.
