Courtney Hjaltman has been appointed to the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT). She was officially sworn in June 26, with a term that will expire Sept. 1, 2025. The PUCT is responsible for regulating Texas’ electric, water, wastewater and telecommunications industries.
California – Maria Rogers has been named director of rail operations for the North County Transit District (NCTD). Rogers has worked with NCTD since 2014, holding positions from conductor to manager of rail operations.
North Carolina – Gov. Roy Cooper has appointed Mary Beth Newns, who is Currituck County emergency management director, to serve on the State Emergency Response Commission (SERC).
Virginia – Virginia Secretary of Transportation Shep Miller selected Zach Trogon to serve as director of the Department of Rail and Public Transportation (DRPT). Trogdon joined the agency in October 2022 as its chief of public transportation.
The United States Cyber Command has appointed Morgan M. Adamski as executive director. She previously served as director of the Cybersecurity Collaboration Center (CCC) and deputy for Strategic Mission Management.
Oklahoma – The Miami City Council recently announced the nomination of Tyler Cline as city manager. Cline began working for the city in 2011 and recently served as the director of public utilities.
West Virginia – The Follansbee City Council accepted Mayor David Velegol Jr.’s nomination of Chris Manack-Stover for city manager. Manack-Stover has been employed as a human resource manager at Weirton Medical Center.
Texas – The DeSoto City Council chose Majed Al-Ghafry to serve as city manager. Majed is an executive engineer and educator who has spent over 35 years as a leader in the public and private sectors.
Mississippi – The Jackson City Council has approved Jhai Keeton as director of the Planning and Development Department. Keeton previously served as deputy director of economic development for Jackson from 2020 to 2022. He most recently worked as a project manager for the Mississippi Development
