Colorado unveils new Statewide Active Transportation Plan to improve roadway safety

The ATP covers safety infrastructure projects, connected communities development, mobility choice expansion and accessibility.

The funding will target everything from crumbling bridges to school renovations, with $4.5 billion authorized for FY 2026.

The new legislation, now waiting for Gov. Tim Walz signature, will provide a major boost to water and transportation projects statewide.

USDOT has cleared 1,065 projects worth roughly $10 billion so far this year, from a backlog of 3,200, according to the DOT.
