Amarillo appoints Andrew Freeman as new interim city manager

The Amarillo City Council has selected Andrew Freeman as new interim city manager. Freeman has replaced City Manager Jared Miller, who was released from his contract Aug. 23, until an official city manager is chosen. Freeman served Amarillo as deputy city manager since May.

In 2017, Freeman was hired by the city of Amarillo as the economic development manager. Since then, he has served in various other capacities for the city. Along with his current role, Freeman has accumulated more than 15 years of experience working in city government.
