Greg Barbaccia will serve as federal chief information officer (CIO) at the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) for the Trump administration.
Barbaccia confirmed his position in a post on his LinkedIn account. He is replacing Clare Martorana, who served in the role during the Biden administration before stepping down on Jan. 20.
According to his public biography on the social media site, Barbaccia most recently served as the chief information security officer at Theorem, a credit underwriting technology company.
Barbaccia was also the president of blockchain search engine provider Elementus, as well as head of intelligence and investigations for Palantir Technologies, a data analytics software company.
He also served in the U.S. Army from 2003 to 2008.
